What Huntr does that Apptracka does not
Fairness first. Huntr has years of polish on its board, a richer contacts CRM (activities, documents and notes per person) and a manual resume editor with templates. Apptracka keeps contacts, interview rounds and notes on each application and builds a resume tailored to a posting on Pro, but it does not have a free-form resume editor, and its board is simpler by design: five lanes, a list view, a Ghosted tab, and a per-job timeline. If you want to hand-build a resume from templates, Huntr or Teal are the stronger fit.
What Apptracka does that Huntr does not
Three things. First, auto-tracking: the extension detects the submission itself - a form submit, a click on a submit control inside an application form, or arrival at a page you can only reach by applying - and saves the posting with its role, company, description, source and date. Viewing a job never creates a record. Second, the free plan has no cap on tracked applications, and every AI tool (fit score, skill gap, cover letter, interview prep, STAR stories, ATS scan, salary benchmark) is available on it, with 30 analyses a month; Pro raises that to 200 a day. Third, the search is treated as something a person goes through: mood check-ins, a burnout index, focus mode, and applications that quietly move to Ghosted instead of nagging you forever.
Pricing, plainly
Apptracka: free with unlimited tracking, the extension, autofill, reminders, community and wellness tools, one stored CV and 30 AI analyses a month. Pro is US$9.99 a month or US$79.99 a year (charged in CAD in Canada and EUR in Europe) for 200 AI analyses a day, up to 10 stored CVs and AI insights on community posts. Huntr has a free plan and a paid plan; their limits and prices change, so check huntr.co for the current numbers rather than trusting a comparison page - including this one.
Switching from Huntr
Export your Huntr board as CSV and import it: Applications, then the upload button. Apptracka reads the file, works out which column is the company, the role, the status and the date applied, and shows you exactly what will happen - how many will be added, how many you already track, and any row it cannot read - before it writes anything. Statuses are mapped across, so a Huntr "Wishlist" arrives as a saved job rather than pretending you applied. Install the extension and everything you apply to from then on tracks itself. Your data leaves as easily as it arrived: every plan exports the whole pipeline as CSV.

Frequently asked questions
Is Apptracka free?
Yes. Tracking is unlimited on the free plan and every AI tool is included with a monthly allowance. Pro only raises the AI ceiling and the number of stored CVs.
Does Apptracka have a resume builder like Huntr?
On Pro, yes: it rebuilds your stored CV for one posting - reordered and reworded, never inventing an employer or a date - which you edit in place and print to PDF. It is a per-job tailoring tool rather than a template editor; every plan gets the CV analysis (fit score, ATS scan, improvement suggestions, cover letters).
Can I import my Huntr board?
Yes. Export it as CSV and import the file from the Applications page. You confirm which column is which, see a preview of what will be added, and anything you already track is skipped rather than duplicated.
